The 3-D Epidemic

Please God! Someone stop Hollywood… I am personally not a fan of 3-D Films, but I never complained about them either… Until now!

This new “Hey I know what will make the movie better… 3-D!!!” epidemic is driving me bat crazy! I didn’t care when it was held back for the occasional kids flick; but now it’s in everything. Even respected films are releasing in 3-D.

Click here for an insanley long list of movies that didn’t need to be in 3-D

First of all, I don’t know about you, but the glasses are uncomfortable and after just a short while give me a pounding head ache that makes me want to curl up,  listen to Norah Jones….and not continue the movie! ……Yes I listen to Norah Jones… Lay off.

Daniel Symmes, a 3-D historian and Hollywood veteran says this -

“To me, 3-D has always been the circus coming to town. Does the circus stay around? No. If it does…attendance drops off, the novelty is gone, and the circus goes away.”

I really hope he is right; because the new systems (which works off polarization not color) are still bad in my opinion.  The image comes apart and the over-all luminance of the screen drops… which for me, dulls the color.

I guess we’ll see what happens when “AVATAR” comes out. It promises to be the change of 3-D and or film in general as we know it. Who knows….it may just change my mind!

But what do you think?

  1. christopherwall answered: What would you think if they could figure (I know it’s impossible) a way of 3-D without specs? I mean is it just the glasses or the 3D itself
  2. ambermerriweather answered: there are too ma,ny three d movies and no one sees the three d when they get home its dumb but i loved the joeeebroo three d movie awesome:)
  3. musingimpressions answered: 3-D should be banned from film :P. I personally feel that the different people in the industry have gone into over-kill with 3-D.
